Castell'in Villa is both a winery and a medieval hamlet, located near Castelnuovo Berardenga in the southern part of Chianti Classico. These traditional Chianti wines from low-yielding vineyards in grown in typical galestro soil. The wine was aged in large casks for 12 months and has received an additional 2 years of bottle aging. Meaty, mineral and bursting with juicy, rosemary infused red fruit, this is our ideal of what great Chianti is all about.

Very few wines make us as hungry as a great Chianti Classico. There is something about its roasted rosemary and sage aroma coupled with its meaty, iron-infused minerality that makes us crave red meat. Not Cabernet Sauvignon, not even a gamey Northern Rhône Syrah, handle protein the way a bone dry and juicy bottle of Chianti Classico can. For us, Chianti Classico is the only red wine for a big juicy steak.
