Grosjean Frères is a small family-owned and sustainably farmed estate in Valle d'Aosta. The Grosjean's produce wines from many of Aosta Valley's native grapes including Petit Rouge, Fumin, Petite Arvine, and Cornalin. Their wine is excellent and is a benchmark for the style of "Alpine Wines" that we love.

Fumin is a red grape variety indigenous to the region. The grape was saved from extinction in the 1980s by the Di Barrò winery and is now produced by several of the Aosta Valley's top wine estates. Fumin produces wine of a deep purple-ruby color and velvety texture with firm tannins and flavors of blackberries and mountain herbs.

Fumin is best when paired with spring lamb, roasted chicken, grilled quail or mushroom risotto. This Fumin can also be enjoyed with a snack of sliced of rye bread, slathered with high-quality butter or a hunk of Fontina cheese (another Valle d'Aosta specialty).
