Bernhard Ott is the Wagram's young and energetic leader, and his mastery of Grüner Veltliner in the Wagram's loess has gained him a great deal of attention. Ott took over from his father 15 years ago and began bottling everything under Stelvin closures. Bernhard also began converting his 30 hectares to biodynamic cultivation and is seeking Demeter certification.

Ott is a Grüner specialist and his wines are consistently among the best in Austria. Roughly 90% of his vineyards are planted to Grüner Veltliner from which come five, sometimes six, different Grüner bottlings. The Grüner Veltliner Fass 4 serves as Ott's basic Grüner, but with its powerful "Veltliner-Pfeffer" profile, there's really nothing "basic" about it.
