Sophisticated aromatics of the ripest, sweetest Griottes cherries and wild plums. Delicate purple flowers and jasmine tea are subtle background notes to the wine's incredibly pure expression of wet granite, and river stone. Long and lingering on the palate with a great sense of balance and precision; a gorgeous wine of finely tuned minerality, focus and clarity.

Louis-Claude Desvignes' vineyards are located on the Côte-de-Py in the center of the cru of Morgon in Beaujolais. His incredibly steep parcel named Javernières is planted to very old vines and enjoys one of the very best exposures in all of Beaujolais. Vinification at Desvignes is geared towards less fruitiness and more towards serious Pinot-like results.

The 2009s are packed with fruit and density. This wine gained in expressiveness after the second day. Pair with a wild mushroom and spinach galette, crisp roast duck, pan-seared king salmon, or soft blooming rind cheeses.
