Savigny-lès-Beaune lies just north and west of Beaune in a small valley that leads into the hills of the Hautes-Côtes. A typical Savigny is likely to be more full-bodied than many Beaune wines if a bit more rustic. Its vines can be found on two opposing hillsides and on the valley floor below. There are 22 premier crus in the village.

The Guillemot family has worked Savigny-lès-Beaune vines for eight generations and produces wines with classic Burgundian finesse and balance while still maintaining Savigny's signature rusticity.

Les Grands Picotins sits on the valley floor at the entrance to mouth of the small valley of Savigny-lès-Beaune. From 50-year-old Pinot Noir vines on clay and limestone. This wine shows generous and bright red cherry fruit and pretty floral aromatics. The ripe 2009 vintage has given this wine additional mid-palate richness and depth. An over-performing wine offering immediate pleasure at an extremely attractive price.
