Description

The Pignier siblings (Jean-Etienne, Antoine, and Marie-Florence) run their family's Domaine Pignier in the village of Montaigu located 40 km south of Arbois in the Jura region of France. They are guardians of an estate began by Carthusian monks in 1794 and continue to utilize the 13th-century cellar of the monastery that once stood in its place.

The Pigniers are the only grape growers in the village, which is an advantage in their pursuit for biodynamic certification by both Demeter and Ecocert. A full range of wine is produced in both sous voile and ouillé styles. All wines are hand-harvested, fermented with indigenous yeasts, and bottled without filtration.

The GPS is a blend of three grapes: Gamay Blanc (the local name for Chardonnay), Poulsard, and Savagnin. The wines are pressed together and vinified without sulfur. This is light and aromatic and is a perfect accompaniment to raw seafood or shellfish.
