The style at Altare is for intensely perfumed, elegant, and finessed Barberas and Nebbiolos, framed smartly in French oak. Altare vines are located in the village of La Morra where he produces the crus of Arborina, Brunate and a highly collectable Barbera named Larigi. These are top-quality, serious Barberas not to be missed. 

The 2010 Elio Altare Barbera d'Alba is intensely colored dark ruby red, very fine and elegant, with notes of blackberry and sweet spices. From young vines aged and aged in French barriques for five months. Excellent when paired with grilled or roasted meats, creamy poletna topped with wild mushrooms or salumi with a hunk of good bread.
