Family owned Grosjean Frères is a small, sustainably farmed estate in Valle d'Aosta. Since the late '60's the Grosjean's have produced Petit Rouge, Fumin, Cornalin, Premetta and Vuillermin along with some Gamay, Pinot Noir and Petite Arvine. Their wine is excellent, it is a benchmark for the style of "Alpine Wines" that we love.

This 100% Petite Arvine is from 25 year old vines. The Rovettaz is a 1.35 ha vineyard that is 700 meters altitude at a 70% incline--extreme. Fermentation is in 80% stainless steel and 20% used barrels.

All hard, crystalline mineral on the nose and the palate is super-crisp, showing nice amounts of citrus fruit, bitter melon and fleshy stone fruit. This is a vibrant mountain wine. Lean, but the weight grows through the finish, which is bone-dry and refreshing. This taste like the place from which it comes.
