Friuli's famous quality wine zones of Collio and Colli Orientalli del Friuli, or "COF," give wines of stony minerality and Alpine aromatics of pine, balsam, and mountain herbs. As one drives towards the sea and into the flatter alluvial plain of the Isonzo zone, one can't help but notice that wines begin to show sea salt and brine. 

The Tenuta di Angoris winery is located inside the Isonzo zone where they farm 70 hectares of densely planted vines. The Isonzo wines are bottled under the name Villa Locatelli to differentiate them from their more powerful (and more expensive) Collio and COF wines. 

This Friulano shows delicious apple and melon fruit with briny minerality and fresh acidity. This is classic Friulano, raised entirely in stainless-steel tanks for freshness and focus. Pair with Prosciutto di San Daniele, barley and nettle soup, or garganelli with smoked ricotta.
