The Côte de Nuits is the northern half of Burgundy’s Côte d’Or. There might not be a more heart-pumping experience for the Burgundy enthusiast than driving the Route des Grand Crus for the first time. Gevrey-Chambertin boasts nine out of the Côte de Nuits twenty-four Grand Crus. Morey-Saint-Denis possesses four and shares a sliver of Bonnes-Mares with Chambolle-Musigny. Musigny is arguably the greatest Grand Cru of all, while neighboring Clos Vougeot leaves more to chance. One could stop there but six Grand Crus remain at Vosne-Romanée, where you’ll meet La Romanée-Conti, and likely need a moment to catch your breath.
